The Jaguar E-type Series III was produced between 1971 and ’75 inclusively. Beneath the bonnet is a V12 engine with a 5.3 L displacement (323.4 cu in) and is topped by four Zenith carburetors; the engine was developed to compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans. The unit actually used in the race puts out 203 kW (272 hp), but the power was dropped slightly for production versions. The Series III E-Type not only has a top speed of 217 km/h ( mph) and will do 0-97 km/h (60 mph) in 6.8 seconds, but also delivers 5.5 km/l or 16 mph.
